Book I, Echoes of Darkness
This book scared the jeepers out of me. I couldn't put it down. Slipak's characters are realistic and creepy!
I was so engaged in the book that when the telephone rang, I nearly jumped out of my skin. The grandfather clock next to me chimed and I almost fell off my chair. Don't read this book if you're alone at night, it'll scare you to death!
I liked this, even though it felt a bit long. There's a lot to keep track of here but JLS writes clearly enough so I didn't get lost. You might call it a paranormal mystery of sorts, but there's much more to it. Recommended. 4.0 out of 5 stars
I received this book through early reviewers on LibraryThing for free in exchange for a review.
This story leads you down a haunting road up until the very last page. I felt so many different emotions while reading through this book, and ill even go as far to say that it frightened me at times.
The author never went in a direction I was expecting and there was constantly new aspects of the story that surprised me when they came about. See, that's the problem with a lot of books today, they are mostly predictable. This author did a fantastic job at creating a whole new world! I don't want to say to much about the book because everything I want to say feels like a spoiler, so I will leave you with this -
Do you like paranormal? How about murder mystery? Angels and demons?
This book was wonderfully constructed, and I definitely recommend it to anyone. I thought I wouldn't like this because I am not a murder mystery reader, but I was very wrong! Now I definitely plan to move on to the rest of the books in the series!
A book that you can't put down! Full of suspense, mystery, thrill...a page turner for sure.
